FAMILY AND COMMUNITY WORKER

We are seeking to recruit a Family and Community Worker who can join our staff team at Walsgrave Baptist Church.
PLEASE NOTE: There are two options for this role: A student or an experienced individual.
For the student role: The successful applicant will, subject to acceptance by the college, train with Moorlands College on their BA (Hons) Applied Theology degree at the Moorlands Midlands centre. This is a placement-based course so working for the church is part of the degree.
You will be working with primary and secondary aged children and families, discipling, pastoring and encouraging them to be fully involved members of the church, alongside a team of dedicated volunteers.
There will also be opportunities to build relationships with those not connected to the church through school’s work and community outreach activities.
You will be employed for a 3-year period, with the potential to extend after a review. The position is to start in August/September 2021 prior to the beginning of the academic year, with the basic terms as:
● 3 year fixed term contract
● 20 hours per week
● 5 weeks per year holiday
● Salary is negotiable dependant upon experience and qualifications
(For student option: ● 40 weeks per year at Walsgrave Baptist Church
● 7 weeks per year at college)
Normal out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a committed Christian.
