Our VISION is: “To be a gateway to the city and a gateway to Jesus” (a Christ-centred community hub).
Walsgrave Baptist Church is geographically on the North Eastern gateway into the city of Coventry. In ancient times the gateways of a city where; meeting places, where people found out (good) news, places of justice, where important announcements were made, where people found refreshment and hospitality, even a place to meet the king (2 Sam 19:8). We want to be a gathering place where people are welcomed and loved, where they are refreshed mind, body and soul and where they can hear good news about Jesus.
Our VALUES are:
1. DESIRING to go deeper with God and DEPENDENT on His Spirit (John 16:13)
2. DEMONSTRATING and DECLARING God’s good news to the people of North East Coventry
3. DISCIPLING one another and the lost (Matt 28:19)
4. DISTINCTIVE and DIVERSE community of sacrificial love crossing barriers of race, age and background
5. DOING the things God wants us to do, not spectating
We are still learning how to embed these Values in everything we do. This is our aspiration, sometimes we get it right, sometimes we fall short but this is where we would love to be. If you would like to join us in our vision you are very welcome.
