Baptisms

At Walsgrave Baptist Church we offer Dedication Services and Adult Baptisms.

Dedication Services are a celebration of the gift of a child in the church. They are a way for parents to thank God for the arrival of their child, to ask for God’s blessing upon that child, and to publically declare they intend to bring up their child to know and love God with the support of the church congregation.

Adult Baptisms are a ceremony where an individual has made the choice themselves to publically declare their love for God and their intention to follow Him in their daily life. This usually involves the full immersion of that individual into water, the telling of their journey of faith and public declarations of faith and intention.

Weddings

It is a joy to be able to hold wedding ceremonies in our building. We have the capacity for up to 160 chairs in our sanctuary, with the possibility of extending this into the welcome area, since the windows all along one edge of the sanctuary can be drawn back. We also have the facilities for a reception in the hall and kitchen area.

Since we are a Baptist Church, we are not subject to the costs and charges of a normal Church of England, or ‘approved premises’ wedding, and therefore can offer our building for weddings at an extremely competitive rate.
