WBC, established in 1840 was once a church within the village of Walsgrave on Sowe, but now Walsgrave is a suburb and very much a part of the City of Coventry – within walking distance of the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) and adjacent to residential, retail, entertainment and office areas.
Located on the A4600, a main arterial road serving Coventry, we are the watchmen over what is sometimes referred to as the “eastern gateway to the city”.
We strive to be: a Place of Passionate Prayer, Celebration and Worship, Teaching and Transformation, Connecting People to Jesus and One Another, Grounded in our Community and City.
We are passionate about creating links and a support network within our local community to serve the needs of all age groups and walks of life in our area. As well as Sunday worship, we run regular groups for mums and toddlers, primary aged children, youth and seniors. We offer support groups for the bereaved and those in need of food and other guidance. We run courses, such as computer skills, English language, Alpha and other Bible courses. We offer meals for children in the summer holidays, and those alone at Christmas. We host coffee mornings, craft groups, gospel choir, Men's breakfasts and a whole host of other activities throughout the year.
We continue to look for ways to bless and care for our local community, and happily welcome everyone through our doors. We love to meet new people, so why not pay us a visit, or get involved in one of our weekly activities today?
